From humble beginnings, my landscape photography lessons are self taught and have evolved into something special. My fascination with landscapes and nature are seeded when at an early age I learned how to draw them well. My notebooks were like empty canvasses and already full of sketches by the first day of school. There were times I drew landscapes with chalks and sometimes charcoals in any hard surface I find, and it made my visit to the principal’s office pretty consistent. For a long time that artistic aspect remained dormant because I chose a technical career path.
Photography started as a hobby years ago after my initial visit to Yosemite. It was love at first sight. The work and story of Ansel Adams inspired me so much that I decided to buy a serious camera. My first DSLR didn’t last long because I learned the ropes by experimenting on it! But having a brother who is a brilliant fashion photographer and being surrounded by hobbyist friends, helped propel this into a passion. Now I’m hooked.
I feel blessed living in northern California rich with dramatic landscapes coming from all directions and in every season! A friend once said I entered the field a little too late. True or not, I have to thrive at some point and feel obligated to share my version of earth preservation with you …
Thanks so much and hope you enjoyed your visit to my Earthscape Catalogue!
